I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings...
Happy Halloween!
So I finally have a day off and I'm enjoying relaxing. I went to walk around town today and saw everyone dressed up for the day...it's fun to see creatures wandering the streets.
I just added a few new faves to Rod's iPod...Stevie Wonder's "So What The Fuss" is probably one of the funkiest songs I've heard in a while and I love it. I know Aly & A.J. is like as bubble gum pop as it gets, but this song by them called "Rush" is kind of infectious...I hear a message in it for me, "Don't let nobody tell you, your life is over, Be every color that you are,Into the rush now, You don't have to know how, Know it all before you'll try." And my most favorite addition is Tom Petty's "Learning To Fly" man, this is the story of my life...I'll just post the entire thing on here:
Learning To Fly by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
Well I started out down a dirty road
Started out all alone
And the sun went down as I crossed the hill
The town lit up the world got still
I’m learning to fly but I ain’t got wings
Comin’ down is the hardest thing
Well the good old days may not return
And the rocks might melt, and the sea may burn
I’m learning to fly but I ain’t got wings
Comin’ down is the hardest thing
Well some say life will beat you down
Break your heart, steal your crown
So I started out for God knows where
But I guess I’ll know when I get there
I’m learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I’m learning to fly but I ain’t got wings
Comin’ down is the hardest thing
I’m learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I’m learning to flyI’m learning to fly

A couple days ago I was in Connecticut working and it was strange because it was the first time I'd been back to Connecticut since my freshman summer. That summer was full of drama and big decisions in my life, it kind of felt like the last step in conquering past demons stepping on CT soil again. It's like, okay, I have more than moved on, I've been around the world twice and then some...so I'm counting down the days until I visit the midwest, I can't wait! 23 days now...
