I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings...

Happy Halloween!

So I finally have a day off and I'm enjoying relaxing. I went to walk around town today and saw everyone dressed up for the day...it's fun to see creatures wandering the streets.

I just added a few new faves to Rod's iPod...Stevie Wonder's "So What The Fuss" is probably one of the funkiest songs I've heard in a while and I love it. I know Aly & A.J. is like as bubble gum pop as it gets, but this song by them called "Rush" is kind of infectious...I hear a message in it for me, "Don't let nobody tell you, your life is over, Be every color that you are,Into the rush now, You don't have to know how, Know it all before you'll try." And my most favorite addition is Tom Petty's "Learning To Fly" man, this is the story of my life...I'll just post the entire thing on here:

Learning To Fly by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers

Well I started out down a dirty road
Started out all alone
And the sun went down as I crossed the hill
The town lit up the world got still

I’m learning to fly but I ain’t got wings
Comin’ down is the hardest thing

Well the good old days may not return
And the rocks might melt, and the sea may burn

I’m learning to fly but I ain’t got wings
Comin’ down is the hardest thing

Well some say life will beat you down
Break your heart, steal your crown
So I started out for God knows where
But I guess I’ll know when I get there

I’m learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I’m learning to fly but I ain’t got wings
Comin’ down is the hardest thing

I’m learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I’m learning to flyI’m learning to fly

A couple days ago I was in Connecticut working and it was strange because it was the first time I'd been back to Connecticut since my freshman summer. That summer was full of drama and big decisions in my life, it kind of felt like the last step in conquering past demons stepping on CT soil again. It's like, okay, I have more than moved on, I've been around the world twice and then some...so I'm counting down the days until I visit the midwest, I can't wait! 23 days now...

I'm a man working on the living part of life...

This has been a crazy week of work but a great one...I spent today sleeping, eating and then sleeping again. Haven't had a day like this in a while, it was pretty refreshing. Tomorrow's Halloween and though I'm not a big Halloween guy, I am excited because it means the day after is when the holiday rush begins. I love the rush of the holiday season. I can't wait to sing carols, watch holiday movies, playing in the snow and "An official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time."

Still, I'm in for a good scare so I'm watching "Saw" as it turns into Halloween. I'm going to have nightmares for a week.

G'night everyone,

It's All About Us..

I've had a lot on my mind lately, not bad stuff, just thoughts of everything. Not to mention the 75 hours of work I put in over the last 4 days and the first show I managed electricity on. BEL provided power for the Sysco Food show and all of the hundreds of vendors needed ridiculous amounts of power. Originally the whole BEL team was going, but a funeral happened at the last minute we had to work and so everyone was at that while I managed the electricity by myself. It was scary, but I worked hard to keep calm and smile the whole time and everyone was happy while I troubleshooted any power outages...

Today I took a partial day off. My boss gave me the whole day off, but I chose to come in for a few hours to work with a client and keep them happy. I'm at lunch currently at Panera (because that's where you go when you want free Hi-Speed WiFi) but now, I'm going home and going to bed. I just got t.A.T.u.'s new CD and I'm excited. I also picked up the new Jamie Cullum to fall asleep to. Great music for a relaxing day...off to bed, everyone take care.

Rice Candy...yay

So the other night Nick and I went to "World Market" and I was joking and said, "What would make this a real import place is Botan Rice Candy...I used to eat it in Korea all the time, it's like gum, but you eat the wrapper with it. Then as I was looking through all the imported teas, it was there! I think I screamed like a little girl. So I got some and I was 5 all over again.

I'm in the middle of writing one of the best songs I've ever written and I can't wait until its done...I can't wait to have this batch of songs done...I've been asked to do some shows, but I want to wait until I have a solid show to sell...I'll keep everyone posted, time for bed...

Am I getting too addicted to these quizzes?

Your Birthdate: September 3

Being born on the 3rd day of the month is likely to add a good bit of vitality to your life.
The energy of 3 allows you bounce back rapidly from setbacks, physical or mental.
There is a restlessness in your nature, but you seem to be able to portray an easygoing, "couldn't care less" attitude.

You have a natural ability to express yourself in public, and you always make a very good impression.
Good with words, you excel in writing, speaking, and possibly singing.
You are energetic and always a good conversationalist.

You have a keen imagination, but you tend to scatter your energies and become involved with too may superficial matters.
You are affectionate and loving, but sometimes too sensitive.
You are subject to rapid ups and downs.

=========================

You Are 40% Weird

Normal enough to know that you're weird...
But too damn weird to do anything about it!

=========================

Your Hidden Talent

Your natural talent is interpersonal relations and dealing with people.
You communicate well and are able to bring disparate groups together.
Your calming presence helps everything go more smoothly.
People crave your praise and complements.

=========================

You Are "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
You would even say it glows.

For you, Christmas is a mix of tradition and fun.
You're not above strapping on a red blinking nose for a laugh.
