Updates...

Life has been busy as usual...I just moved into a new apartment and so far it's great. Since college, I've really gotten into movies, especially art house and cult classics. Lately, I've been watching "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and it's been taking me back to high school.

Call me a dork, but I've been kind of following the American Idol antics...I never did before in college (probably because there was even less time then and no cable in the dorms) but I'm really amazed at how that show really makes undiscovered talent stars. It's like music industry boot camp and those guys put in years of experience within a few months.

I've really been trying to buckle down on my own music and play more shows to work closer to performing/writing full-time. Right now I'm working on some music for myself as well as for a great artist (and also great friend) that is releasing her debut album internationally pretty soon. I hope something works out for either. I've been playing some coffee shops and bars up here, hopefully soon I will break into the festival circuit, but we'll see. I need to write more material. I was playing at Theo's in Jersey a week ago and was halfway through my set and said to the crowd, "You know, I'm a really happy person, but you wouldn't be able to tell from these songs..." I think the last batch of songs I wrote were from a different stage in my life and I was in a hard part of life then. Don't get me wrong, they're great songs, but they're very dark.

Margaret Cho is coming to Philly and I'm excited about that. Augustana is coming to Philly this weekend and I'm more excited about that. It's been forever since I've been able to hang out with Jared, Dan and Josiah...it'll be good times, and a great show.

I've been trying to get a hold of Dr. J, it's been a long time since I've talked to him. I really miss him. The biggest adjustment in moving on from college and moving to a different region of the U.S. is not having Dr. J around to guide me through things in life and just sit down and have coffee. Maybe I can make it down to GC sometime soon...

'Tis the wedding season, and it's showing, my friends Jeb and Dawn and Kevin and Brooke are getting married...not all together, but in the respective couples...and that means a lot of flying! It's cool, because for those of you who know me know that I love airports, so I'm looking forward to traveling here in a few months.
