Dawn and JEB get hitched...
So I just got back from Indy the other day...I was there from Thurs-Sun because my best friend was getting married. Normally these events are something I dread in the back of my mind, but this time I actually had a great time. Jeb asked me to be his best man and I couldn't have asked for a greater honor. I mean, along with the maid of honor, I got to have the best view of the wedding. I remember many a late night conversation with Jeb about these years of loneliness, and now seven years later here he was finally tying the knot.
I guess the most amazing part of the weekend was that all of the groomsmen were just a little more than acquaintances (some of us never having met before) and the chemistry between all of us was incredible. All of us had fun, enjoyed each other's company and best of all worked great as a team to get all the details done for the wedding. You could have taken any still moment of the groomsmen together and swore that we'd been friends for 20 years. It was amazing.
Being back in Kokomo, Indiana is always weird, things change and you remember why you're not there anymore. I can say it's where I grew up, but I outgrew that city. I guess sometimes I miss it, but overall it's not where I belong. It's hard because there are people I love dearly there and at times I wonder about how fair it is that the places I don't belong are the places where people I am close to are. But as in the rest of life I'll learn there was a lesson behind everything.
Anyways, it's time to get back to work, I will write more soon...
