Blog from the air...

Thanks to iPod Touch I'm blogging from the flight from Philly to
Nashville. It won't actually post until I land, but at least I can
blog while I have a free moment.

For starters, I just bought Josh Kelley's new album, "Special Company"
and it is incredible. I'm listening to it on this flight and love
nearly every track so far. I love finding great music that hasn't
saturated the market yet. This album just makes me smile and feel
like life is just great.

Nashville should be cool, I have many friends here, but just hope I
can find the time among all the work to catch up with them.

I'm in Nashville until Wednesday and then it's off to Houston.

Until later, Soli Deo Gloria,
-Rod

A New Year & A New Album (Finally!)

I fully intended to post something closer to the beginning of the year, but I woke up one day and it was 25 days in! Well, the good news is that the time wasn't wasted. The first day of the New Year, I jumped on a plane to Indy to surprise my mother for her 60th birthday. She turned the big six oh on the 2nd and I returned to Delaware on the 3rd. From there, I worked insane hours and instead of sleeping, I put in hours into finishing the album. Yes, you read correctly, the album is finally done. I've been talking about doing an album for about 5 years and working on this particular one for about 3 years. Last year, I heard the Blue October album "Foiled" and decided to set into high gear and make it happen. And after many many tears and sleepless nights, the final product is finished and was shipped out overnight express to the production factory a couple days ago. I am extremely proud of this album and the songs still make me smile, cry and feel inklings of hope. I am banking on the final product coming back in time for a release in early March and the listening parties before that. It's been a big couple of days for me and I feel really good about everything. I rewarded myself by playing video games again (I started with Assassin's Creed for PS3) and got myself an iPod Touch to fool around with on the next few business trips.

On Saturday, I leave with the BEL.com crew to Nashville to work until Wednesday and then leave from there to go to Houston until Friday and then head back to Delaware for a while. I guess the timing is right, the album is done and in duplication as we speak, so the work trip kills the time until they're done.

That all being said, it's late and I have to prep with the BEL.com crew in the morning to get ready for our string of shows. TCGBGN, and I'll keep everyone posted on the release dates for the album…
